FAQs

Where are you located and how far will you travel for a shoot?

I am located in Bergen County New Jersey. I service all of Bergen County, as well as an hour's drive radius from my home. Special arrangements can be made for further travel.

Where do your shoots take place?

It depends on what you are looking for. Most newborn shoots take place in the client's home.  Portrait sessions for children and/or families can take place at one of several locations I like to use around Bergen County. But if you have someplace  in mind, just ask! I'm happy to work at a location that is special to you.

What style of photography do you shoot?

My specialty is children's fine are portraiture. And I also love to do artful family sessions.  I prefer not to have things get too "pose-y." When children are allowed to be themselves, that's when the most authentic and beautiful images are captured.

How far in advance do you book?

Because I am the busy mother of 5, I can only book a limited number of session per month. So it is best to book at least three to four months in advance of when you'd like to have your shoot.

When do you shoot?

I prefer to schedule all outdoor sessions at least 2 hours before sunset. This is when we will have the best light.  So depending on the time of year, it can be as early as 3 pm or as late as 6.  In home shoots differ depending on the lighting situation in your home. We can discuss this during our phone or email consultation.

How long is a regular portrait session?

On location child or family sessions usually last between 1 and 3 hours, depending on the season, the amount of children in the family, the location, total wardrobe changes and various other factors.   I don’t put a fixed time frame on your session, rather I shoot until the job is done and your child or family is captured in the way in which you have imagined.  Newborn sessions will take at least 2 hours and often up to 4 hours, for mother to soothe, feed, and comfort baby.

How do we prepare for our session?

When you book your session we will have a phone or email consultation.  We will discuss location and the look/feel you are hoping for. I can help you make wardrobe decisions for your family and send you examples of what might be right for the season.  The day before the session we will have a check in call or email and finalize all plans.

When is the best time for a newborn session?

The best time to photograph your newborn is between 5 to 10 days of when they arrive.  But if this time frame does not work for you, let me know! I know how hectic this time can be with a new little one. We can work together to plan a session that fits into your schedule as best as possible.

What are session fees, and what is included?

It depends on the type of session you are booking. Please visit pricing for more info.
