Like the sink baths. I have been shooting them monthly since she was a born and I never tire of it. Such a simple ritual - but so beautiful and poignant. Especially as she is the youngest of five children and I don't know if there will be another.
The light, the gentle flow of the water as it fills our deep sink, the smell of the Johnson & Johnson Baby Bubble Bath. All of it is burned into my memories like a favorite movie.
Messy bed-head hair.
Shimmering rainbow tinted bubbles.
Mountains of colorful plastic tub toys.
Soft baby skin dotted with water droplets.
Splishes and splashes and squeals and giggles.
I want to capture it all and hold it and hug to my heart it save it forever.
She always emerges happy and fresh smelling and one day closer to not fitting in the sink anymore. But I hope that someday when she only wants to take showers, and blowing bubbles and playing sharks in the sink is a distant memory, she'll be able to look at the photos and hear all the words I couldn't find. And she'll smile.
I'm so excited and honored to be a new member of the 30 Minutes in the Life group. Thank you so much Journey to Artist for not only allowing me to be part of this beautiful project, but inspiring me to put words to my pictures more often.
Please visit the amazing Liz Godfrey Photography and check out her 30 minutes in lovely Connecticut this month.

I give you, fabulous Finn.
(and yes, I'm now booking pet portrait sessions. 20 minutes, 6 digital images, $175)
She's from Queens.
She's tough as nails but as sweet as pie.
She makes me laugh.
She makes me cry (with her beautiful, soulful writing).
Then she makes me laugh again.
Isn't she just gorgeous?

It filters in from windows on two sides of the room and lays softly on the bed.
Sometimes our kids hang out there at just the right time.
I love when that happens.
We walked a trail.
There was a creek.
They laughed, explored, threw rocks into the water...
It was beautiful.
